Online Consumer Lender and Nation’s Largest Pool Builder Team Up to Make AnythingLoan Available to Customers with Excellent Credit

SAN DIEGO — FirstAgain[R] LLC, an online consumer lender focusing exclusively on individuals with excellent credit, has partnered with Blue Haven Pools & Spas[R], the nation’s largest pool builder, to provide fast and convenient financing for custom, in-ground pools and spas. As a result of the agreement, FirstAgain’s AnythingLoan, a revolutionary, unsecured loan that combines low rates with an unparalleled customer experience, will be offered to “superprime” borrowers.

At a time when adverse credit and housing market conditions have forced many lenders to scale back the availability of home equity loans and other traditional forms of home improvement financing, FirstAgain is a welcome funding alternative so market leaders like Blue Haven can offer their customers an independent source of hassle-free financing.

“Blue Haven’s customers have come to expect the very best in service,” said Gary Miller, co-founder and CEO of FirstAgain. “That’s something they’ll also get from FirstAgain. We not only provide low-interest, unsecured financing, but we’re truly relentless about creating a better loan experience for borrowers with excellent credit.”

Blue Haven Pools, a recognized industry leader with 75 offices in the U.S. and more than 250,000 customers from coast to coast, has been ranked as the nation’s largest pool builder every year since 2003 by Pool & Spa News Magazine.

“We always strive to provide our clients with a variety of lending sources for swimming pool loans,” said Larry Katz, president of Blue Haven National Management, Inc. “Our partnership with FirstAgain is one more avenue that will make it much easier for them to finance their backyard dreams.”

A completely paperless loan allowing customers the convenience of signing loan documents online using a computer mouse, the AnythingLoan provides between $10,000 and $100,000 for any purpose, including any type of home improvement project. In addition to swimming pools, borrowers have used the AnythingLoan to finance home expansions, kitchen and bath remodels, landscaping projects and more. Interest rates for home improvement loans are fixed as low as 6.99 percent and do not require liens against borrowers’ homes.

Tanning beds not so safe

Youth Studies Australia, March, 2007 by Kate Gross

> The International Agency for Research on Cancer has warned against the use of tanning beds by teenagers and young adults following the results of their study indicating that people who begin using tanning beds in their teens and 20s face a 75% increase in their risk of developing melanoma. Research from the France-based organisation also found that tanning beds have no positive health effects, such as protection against solar damage to the skin and vitamin D deficiency (Herald Sun, 30/11/06, p.36; Sunday Territorian, 10/12/06, p.43).

Dentists survey

Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), Dec 12, 2008

HEALTH Secretary Alan Johnson ordered an inquiry today into why many people still do not have access to an NHS dentist despite billions of pounds of investment.

Experts have been drafted in to identify obstacles to seeing a National Health dentist in many areas of the country.

The move follows continued criticism that the number of people seen by NHS dentists has fallen steeply since a controversial overhaul of services.

Some 1.2 million fewer patients orthodontists in mesa visited dentists in the two years to June than in the period before new contracts were introduced.

The Department of Health says investment has paid off with improvements in certain parts of the country but acknowledges that “access remains a problem in some areas”.

A review team, including oral health professionals and led by Prof Jimmy Steele of Newcastle’s School of Dental Sciences, will study current provision and report in the spring.

Mr Johnson said: “We are committed to improving access to NHS dentistry. In the past year have increased funding for dentistry to over pounds 2bn and increased undergraduate training places for dentists by 25%.

“It is disappointing that despite this investment there remain areas of the country in which people are unable to find an NHS dentist.

“I have appointed the independent review team to help us understand what more needs to be done.”

Curtain up

Dance Magazine, July, 2009 by Wendy Perron

One of the sweet paradoxes about Janie Taylor is that her dancing is both old and new. She has the whiff of mystery of a truly romantic ballerina as well as the physical fearlessness of a totally contemporary dancer. No wonder she has been a muse to Peter Martins for many of his ballets! But she has been dropping in and out of casting the last three years, due to a confounding medical problem. During the cover shoot, I asked Janie if she identified with Tanaquil Le Clercq, the original fatal figure in Balanchine’s La Valse who later tragically contracted polio. Very quietly, she said, “I’ve had my share of …” Read Astrida Woods’ “Ballerina, Interrupted,” to find out about Janie’s harrowing medical tale–which she has come through magnificently. Her sublime performances onstage now seem even more miraculous.

On a practical note, it may sound like fun to get a job on a cruise ship or an amusement park, but what is it really like? The first part of the attraction–getting a steady paycheck–is undeniably fun. Plus, you get to visit all those exotic places. But there are drawbacks you might not be prepared for
